Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T10
And yet another, another, another, another, another, slick looking T-series digicam from Sony, the DSC-T10. But again, if design is what they’re thinking about here, they need to seriously get rid of the slider! OK, maybe it’s a great mechanism for turning the cam on and off but it leaves permanent streak marks on the body! Hardly cool-looking when that happens.
It was this exact flaw that put me off the original T1. I remember seeing images of the T1 a good few weeks before it came out and I was stoked by it’s good looks, the thin-ness, and the huge LCD screen. But when it finally came out, I went to see it a day later at Sakuraya in Shibuya and I was horrified by the streak marks! From just one day! Damn, I hate imperfections!
Anyway, here are some specs for this new T10:
- 7-megapixel
- Up to ISO 1000
- 2.5-inch Clear Photo Plus LCD screen
- Long battery life – up to 250 shots per charge
- A choice of colors – pink, white, black or silver
- Debut 2006 August 28 (Japan)
This camera design has had it’s day and I wish Sony would just put it to rest and come up with something more interesting. Although, there was one iteration without the slider which I thought was the best one of the bunch.
well, i have the first generation T1. i personally like the slider very much because it makes the operation very convenient. i can take a quick photo (turn the camerea on, shot, turn it off) with one hand. sorry, i may be different. :-p
I agree, the slider is a good mechanism. But like I said, it leaves marks on the camera. I hate scratches, marks, dents…, any imperfections, for that matter, on my belongings…
Damn, that’s a sexy name you have!
