Koenji Awaodori
Believe it or not, I have been in Tokyo for like 6 years and I have never been to the annually organised Koenji Awaodori. Just shows, I once devoted my life to work and boredom. Oh well…
Roy has been going to this event every year and seems to rave about it everytime. Since this year is the event’s 50th anniversary, Roy invited me along and I am so glad I made it - it was friggin’ awesome! It was friggin’ huge! It was friggin’ crowded! It was friggin’ tiring! But it is friggin’ worth it! OK, enough of that “friggin’” thing…
Besides dragging me there, Roy also brought along his clan: Bart, Jeff, Ricky and Keiko, all of whom are cool people to hang with which enhanced my first taste of this traditional dance festival all the more.
I am begining to think I am shorter than I thought I was. For some reason, everytime I tried to take a pic, I always framed the head of the person in front. Even if I tiptoed :|. And these back-of-heads are not exactly sexy either - they were either bald or their hair resembled seaweed. So, it was either, take the shots with the head, or don’t take any at all. Yep, so I ended up cropping out as much of the heads as possible.
Anyway, enjoy the pics…

You got some pretty good shots. Image 8 is cool with the police man sitting there. I think Bart pointing him out too.
Hey, nice shots eddie, and you didn’t need a stabilizer after all
I had a great time !
I didn’t believe it when Roy told me there’d be hot girls there. But man… so many girls were wearing that taco shell hat and STILL looked good. Friggin unbelievable! I had a great time! Too bad I had to bail so early. (:_;)
