New PSP colours
Yep, the Sony PSP is finally about to come in multiple colours (well, in Japan). I really wonder why it took so long for Sony to do this. I remember seeing some pics of the PSPs in multi-colours and themes at least 6 months before the unit even became available in Japan. Well yeah, they were proto-types but still, some looked good (especially a yellow one, if I remember correctly).
Anyway, the PSP will soon get Pink, Silver and Metallic Blue to the line-up which brings the total amount of available colours in Japan to 5 (same as the DS Lite). And, quite frankly, I don’t like any of these new PSP colours. Silver?? Metallic Blue?? Man, those 2 look tacky! The special edition, Metal Gear Solid version, which arrives on December 21 is probably better, IMHO…

hmm I agree…the blue one looks horrible and the silver…not as bad…the pink….would it really appeal to the female audiance??
Well, the pink is the less tacky one. But personally I think the white psp has been the only color besides black that looks good. Or.. you could a get a sweet skin for it, those usually look real good.
Yeah, “black” and “white” are the only truly acceptable ones, imho. Pink is OK but is kinda pushing it - I think white for girls is nicer. Silver or metallic, eeewwwwwww…
On the otherhand, all the available colours for the DS Lite is beautiful (I hope they don’t consider metallic colour schemes in the future). I guess it is down to the simplistic/minimalist design of the thing. The PSP just seems too dynamic of a design to look well with multiple colours.
On the topic of DS Lite’s, I recently was able to get my first hands-on demonstration of the so far, exclusive to japan Baby Blue colour (light blue). Personally I thought it looked cheap, similar to some counterfeit toy!!!
