New Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles trailer
… over at MTV! Sadly, the trailer is in crappy Flash format which basically means, blurry, choppy and crappy stream. I wonder how long it takes before a QuickTime version appears on Apple. I’m dying to watch it again in Hi-Def glory…
The CG is pretty awesome and atmospheric. It is rather dark and gritty in appearance but because Michealangelo’s “Cowabunga dude” humour has been brought over, I wouldn’t expect anything other than, it’s a kids movie. Anyway, overall it seems like a fun movie. I’m definitely gonna see it!
Synopsis
After the defeat of their old arch nemesis, The Shredder, the Turtles have grown apart as a family. Struggling to keep them together, their sensei, Master Splinter, becomes worried when strange things begin to brew in New York City. Tech-industrialist Max Winters go’s mad after he was wrongfully fired, begins amassing an army of ancient monsters. Realizing his plan is succeeding, he is no longer sarisfied with Vegence against his ex- employer but now has thirst for World Domination.
Update 2006.12.22: QT version of the trailer, new hi-res movie stills, and voicing info.

… restaurant in Nishi Azabu. This restaurant is 5 mins walk from my ex-company and is the place where, then Japanese Prime Minister, Koizumi wined and dined US President Bush when he made his first official visit a good few years back. I was dining here with my brother the day before he left. The food is good here but the menu is somewhat small and limited. Oh, and I suggest you make a reservation if you wish to dine here at around 8pm-ish - even on weekdays.
2 commentsMy bother was here
My elder brother, whom I last saw over 6 years ago, came to visit me last week. The reason as to why it’s been so long since I last saw him is because, just like myself, after graduating from University, he too left England for work abroad (hence I didn’t get to see him the last time I went back home to England). Although he was just here for 5 days, it’ just a great feeling to have a family member here. Now that he’s gone, I some-what feel I’m alone again being here in Tokyo…
Anyway, while my brother was here, I showed him around a few places (obviously, Odaiba is one of them as pictured). Will upload pics later…
No commentsWorld’s most expensive Hello Kitty figure
“The Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi department store in Tokyo has announced that it will sell one Hello Kitty figure made of pure platinum. Priced at 18.9 million yen (UK£82,585 / US$163,358), it is reportedly the most expensive Hello Kitty figure ever produced. It will go on sale on Tuesday.
The shiny figure is 5.6 centimeters high and weighs 590 grams. Its owner can attach seven different ribbons made of diamonds, rubies, and other precious gems to the figure and use it as a pendant.
The department store has put the figure on display in its special Christmas section. The buyer will be able to take the unique piece home on Dec. 21 — albeit with a much lighter wallet. (Mainichi)“
If I was loaded, I’d definitely add this to my brother’s girl’s Hello Kitty collection. Sadly, I’m no where near being loaded… sigh. Oh, well, my break will come sooner or later…
3 commentsWii launches soon
Well, as you all know, Japan will see the launch of the Nintendo Wii on 12.2, which happens to be today (considering it’s 1am now). I have no idea as to why the Wii was launched in the US 2 weeks before it’s homeland. But anyway…
I was just watching news on TV which was reporting live from outside Bic Camera in Yurakucho. It said that there are currently 600 people camping outside the store in anticipation for the launch of the Nintendo Wii, which happens in approx. 6 hours time (7am when they go on sale). Basically, the cameraman and presenter were filming the geeks out in the cold when all of a sudden, I see this white thing lurking around in the background. And it happens to be a friend, Danny, appearing in his Stormtrooper armour! Hahahahaha! And he gets briefly interviewed too!
