Feels weird without Ulala
By now, I guess Ulala’s operation is over and he’s probably about to wake up soon. I dropped him off at the rabbit specialists this morning at 10:30am and will need to go to pick him up at 5pm.
After leaving the vets, I went to a pet store to buy a new hard carry case and a few pet blankets. I already have a carry case for Ulala but it is a soft case which makes it hardly ideal to carry the poor fella in after an operation especially considering it will be rush hour on the trains when I pick him up. Anyway, the shop had the case I wanted but it was only available in green, not the beige I wanted. I was tempted to go to another pet store to find a beige one but since I have ¥3,000 worth of points at this shop, it would have been silly to go elsewhere and pay full price for one since I’m pretty sure the case will only be used for this one occasion.
Upon arriving home, it felt really weird to not have Ulala near the doors of his cage to greet me. Or should I say, pleading for his cage to be opened so he can cause havoc around the house. It also feels weird to not have him nose around when I’m cleaning out his cage, and as I’m typing now - it’s just so quiet. In short, he is now a big part of my life and I just don’t feel right without him here. I hope after the operation, he will live a longer, healthier and happier life.

Speaking of his operation, the specialist decided a few things need to be done:
- neutering
- remove a large tumour on the left-side of his lower back
- a small spot in his left ear
- remove another tumour (really small one) on the upper right-side of his back.
Poor Ulala - having one problem corrected is bad enough, nevermind four. He’s gonna be pretty stressed. Regarding the small tumour, the specialist wasn’t sure if she will definitely remove it. She will decide once the surgery starts. It may be a good idea to remove it now so Ulala wouldn’t need to go through the trauma of an operation again later. But since the tumour is so small, I’m not sure if it is safe to remove it right now. Oh well, I’m sure the specialist will make a good decision.
Well, all is prepared for Ulala’s return and I’ll be off to pick him up soon. Can’t wait to see him. Caio!
