Adobe PS Lightroom v1

lightroom.jpg

Since my Adobe Lightroom beta is about to expire, I downloaded the 30-day trial of the final version, Photoshop Lightroom v1.0, for a test run. But so far, I don’t think I’ve come across anything significantly newer and/or better than what was already in the beta version. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still a great piece of software but I expected a lot more to have been implemented since the last beta release.

Hmmmmm….. US$200 for this or US$300 for Apple’s Aperture. I think I’ll also download the trial version of Aperature and see for myself which is better for my needs…

I took a quick look at lightroom the other day. It looks like a really cool tool. Sure beats the superJPG that I have been using for years!(and has not been supported for years either)

I’m doing the same right now. Also been reading many of the test and or review that are abound on the internet.

Right now, it appears many are giving Lightroom the nod. One of the problems with Aperture is it wants the latest and the best. Very few of us are constantly updating to a new Mac or run with high end video cards or a large amount of ram.

Personally, I need to think about getting Photoshop for my Mac. In the past I have run Photoshop under windows, but now I no longer have a windows machine. I know by my workflow I need something more than Photoshop for RAW.

Anyway, would be really interested in what you think of both programs when you make a choice.
