Sagamihara Koinobori

1.jpg

Every year, Sagamihara river in Sagamihara, which is approx. 2hrs train and bus ride from central Tokyo, collects and shows off over a thousand Koinoboris which draws huge crowds of families, couples, etc. This is the first time I have been to Sagamihara and is definitely the first time I have ever seen so many Koinoboris in one place! 1,200 of them, to be exact! I usually see a few on the balconies or rooftops of apartments/houses.

Ulala as my logo

eddie.gif

Despite being educated as a graphic designer, I have never actually created a symbol for myself. Reason being, as a graphic designer, we are always tied to concept and theme (which I will not go into). This means, at the very least, my logo has to say what I do and who I am, etc.

Hanging with HD and Tony

guys_sml.jpgHing Dai is back in town again and I met up with him along with Tony and chilled in Akiba before heading off to Kanda for dinner. Since Ulala became sick, I didn’t leave the house. Obviously, after Ulala passed away, I was quite distressed and I holed myself up in my room mourning the loss. The last week was the longest week I have ever had. It felt more like 3-4 weeks. But anyway, it was great to get out and see people. I feel so much better now.

I see Hing Dai more than I do with friends who live here in Tokyo - the dude is literally here every other month from Aussie. Tony, I last saw maybe 5 months or so ago and before that was like 10 months before. And Tony only lives 35-40 mins train ride away. So yeah, there ya go with this ’seeing Hing Dai often’ thing.

Ulala is so sick

bunnies.jpgUlala can barely sit up, eat nor drink. He’s just lying near my room looking life-less, twitching and drenched in diarrhea. Seen the vet twice already. Had 3 shots. Had blood test. Had medication. In fact, he’s become worse. This evening while force feeding him, he just lied there on his back on my lap without even the energy to hold up his head. Gone is the shine in his beautiful eyes. He is not the same little rebel I know of. Force feeding him has become difficult because he refuses to swallow, instead, the food and liquid is pouring back out of his mouth. At that point, I really thought he was making his journey across the rainbow…

It’s my 32nd birthday tomorrow. What more can I possibly wish for than for my little fella to recover…

UPDATE 2007.04.18 @ 13:30
I’ve left Ulala at the vets and will be returning to pick him up at 4pm. The vet tells me Ulala’s survival rate is a little low but she will do all she can…

UPDATE 2007.04.18 @ 15:50
I got an emergency call from the vets at 2:30pm notifying me that Ulala’s condition had deteriorated therefore I should go there right away.

Ulala is now home with me but he is semi-unconscious. The vet tells me, today is probably his last day. To say I am sad right now is horribly understated. I loved him dearly. No words can describe the pain I am currently going through and have been for the last few days…

I will not be online as of now until whenever. Thanks for all the wishes.

Help: iMac G5 dozing off!

imac.jpgI have a 20-inch iMac G5 2.1GHz (iSight) and for the last two days, the computer just goes into sleep mode while I’m frikkin’ working on it! Usually, sleep kicks in if the computer has not been active for about 1 hour, a setting I always had.

But for the last day or two, sleep kicks in whenever it feels like! It happened twice just now, within 3 minutes apart. Both times while in the middle of saving a file! I’ve already repaired permissions and the disk but it didn’t solve the problem (I’ve also repaired the permissions through ‘Terminal’ (sudo diskutil repairPermissions /) rather than just through the ‘Disk Utility’ app).

I found a few topics on the net regarding this problem but there seems to be no solution! People have even sent in their Macs to have the logic board replaced, etc., to no avail! Btw, my warranty has ran out therefore sending it in and paying to get it repaired is not ideal especially considering it doesn’t fix the problem!

Any solutions? Or point me to a website that has? Thanks in advance!
