New colour variation Media Skin
Do you guys remember the New Colour Variation poll AU KDDI was running for the Media Skin cellphone which I mentioned about a few months back? No? Uh, OK… here’s a quote from my original entry:
Btw, between March 23 – April 19, you can cast your vote on one of the ‘New Colour Variation’ Media Skin cellphones and the one colour with the most votes will go into production! The 5 colours are: Pink, Brown, Pastel Pink, Pastel Blue and Red.
Well, the results are out and here they are:
Rank 1: PASTEL BLUE with 15,762 votes
Rank 2: PINK with 14,294 votes
Rank 3: RED with 11,352 votes
Rank 4: PASTEL PINK with 8,350 votes
Rank 5: BROWN with 7,564 votes
So there you have it, Pastel Blue will go into production with only 3,000 of them being made. If you want one, you have to enter a lottery which runs from May 22 (10am) – June 11th (6pm). The draw announcement is scheduled for July 2 and the lucky ones will be contacted via mail. The price for this limited colour variation costs ¥26,250. It will also come with a specially made vinyl case and a handstrap (serialised to show how limited it is), both designed by Tokujin Yoshioka himself (the designer behind the Media Skin). Expect displays of the ‘Pastel Blue phone and it’s bundled goods’ spring-up in shops from May 23.
I sure hope I can get the Pastel Blue Media Skin mock-up to complete my collection. But I have a bad feeling that the price will go over the roof on Yahoo auction, if I can even find it, that is…
