Peter Jackson? Seriously? Hahahahahahaha. LOTR is queer. Sorry but I will have to agree with Randle from Clerks 2 and say that a three movie series about some barefoot whiney freaks walking to a volcano is pretty dumb, and Frito is a fag.

Danielle, Nichole, Eddie.

Here is a serious explanation as to why so many people would make a big deal about Star Wars, and not having seen it. I don't know how old you are but it's really hard to understand unless you were about 10-15 years old at that time. When Star Wars came out there was absolutely nothing like it. No one had ever seen anything as amazing as it before and it opened up our imaginations in a way that affected the lives and careers of many people.

Objectively, Star Wars is only just a mediocre film really, but it was a significant event at the right time. It was significant to the way the movie industry was changed and how movies were made and marketed. Films in the '70s were very dark and real and depressing. Star Wars was the escapism that the society needed at that time. Whether this is good or bad is subjective but the fact remains that Star Wars was one of the most significant films in history because of it's influence into so many areas of society.

If you grew up in the post Star Wars generation you probably wouldn't be too impressed with the films because everything else that came after it was better. But you have to remember that everything else after Star Wars was inspired by it. I'm referring to the very first film here.

That's why people are amazed when they hear someone has not seen it. To many people it's not just a movie, it was a historical event that moved them profoundly. The special DVD in the trilogy box has some great documentaries about the history of Star Wars that may help you to understand the impact the film had. It may not motivate you to like the films but at least you can understand why people are so fanatic. You may not have any desire to see the films I don't think you can fully understand that generation without seeing the films.

Eddie- You are not alone. I managed to live my life Star Wars free for 27 years. Of course I had heard of Star Wars and the characters from the movies, but I had never actually sat down and gave up 13 hours of my life to watch these movies. I then married one of the biggest Star Wars fans. He owns all of the Star Wars DVD's and even a few collectibles. Now while my 10 year old daughter has seen each movie at least once, I have yet to give up my time to watch them entirely. Please don't feel alone in this giant world. Even though there are millions of people who live the jungles and desserts of the world and they haven't seen the movies, it seems that there might be a handful of us in the civilized world who haven't. I don't know about you, but I would rather my 2 year old know his alphabet than lines from any movie! A person's knowledge of pop culture is no way to base a person's character.

You're not alone Eddie! I have never seen Star Wars and I really have no desire to. What I find interesting is that people are truly amazed that I haven't seen these movies. Maybe it's the stereotype of the people that LOVE star wars, or just the plain stupidity of the movies themselves...I don't know. Just never felt like I was missing out on something great!

I agree with Danielle...where's MY interview!!!

Good for you Eddie!

I, too, have not seen Star Wars. And I don't intend to. What I find "gay," Lincoln, is feeling the need to point out the fact that his "sequence of prequel versus original trilogies [was] out of whack". Way to solidify the stereotype!!

Now, where is MY interview for E news?
