Maybe if I’d actually sit down and watch 1 or all 3 of the original movies, I could actually remember if I’d seen it/them. I, too was born in ‘77 and was too young to remember what I’d seen or caught in a commercial. The first movie in a theater for me was E.T. (not sure if a Star Wars movie came out that year or not). While growing up it wasn’t like the movies were shown on movie channels or regular TV to ‘happen to catch them’. I only know the well-know things about the movies – Darth/Luke, Luke/Lea, Hans(Harrison), Darth(James Earl Jones). Like Eddie Wong, I’m more intrigued by UltraMan, and I grew up on the East Coast. I, too have seen SpaceBalls and at least got the perverted jokes in that movie. Now my 5 year old son has this lure to the ‘newer’ Star Wars movies and seems to make a big fuss over them. I just come back with that those movies ‘are no big deal – get over it’, to my 5 yr old. Maybe I’ll sit down with him one day and watch them – at least he can say he saw them with his Dad. Now I’ve told the world. Thanks Eddie.

I’m right there with you Eddie! Seen plenty of movies, even a lot of SF too, but Star Wars? I never felt much of an interest.

For some reason I’ve seen the parody Spaceballs several times though.

Wow, so many people have not seen Star Wars too. Thanks for making me feel 'normal'... hahahahaha I've seen some blog entries and comments on other sites regarding the E! Onlne article saying things like: "Who the heck is Eddie Wong, never heard of him", "Why is this even relevant?", "Nothing newsworthy to write about?", "What a waste of a page", etc., etc. Well, free world, free speech. Point is: it is Star Wars 30th Anniversary. Every entertainment and news site needs to write something about Star Wars. And let's face it, probably every single one of these sites will be talking about "how great the movie is", "what it means to the population", "what a brilliant man Lucas is", "how many trillions of dollars its made", etc., etc. Read one site, you've read them all. Not to mention, probably a lot of people already know the Star Wars facts anyway (the same things have probably been written for the last 30 years!). So, what is so newsworthy repeating the same stuff on every entertainment website? You gotta give Ms. Ryan credit for trying something different regardless if its newsworthy or not to some. And who is to judge if an article is newsworthy? A million different things to a million different people, right? Personally, it doesn't matter who Eddie Wong is, the interview could have been written on any of the others whom have commented on this entry claiming they too have not seen Star Wars such as Bertilla, Sheri, TJ. Church, Oudie, etc., etc. (it just so happens that a few weeks earlier, I had written an entry about not being interested in Star Wars thus being picked up by google's search results). Bottom line, the article doesn't repeat what the other billions of sites are talking about - its original. To be honest, I'd really enjoy the article even if it was something like "Paris Hilton embosses the words 'Star Wars' on her favourite $20,000 Chanel bag"... And what's with the last 2 comment authors? FREDDY Vs JASON? Hahahahah... (for the record, I've never seen that movie either and don't intend to).

Just because someone has never watched Star Wars doesn’t mean they are living under a rock and how can you say japanese cartoons are for the most pathetic dorks? Surely dorks are well known for their love of Star Wars and Star Trek at big nerdy Star Trek and Star Wars conventions? They dress up and treat Star Wars like a religion and take the fad waaaaaaay too far…

Maybe you should get back to reality and stop thinking light sabers are real…

(P.S Star Wars isn’t creative, ever think that Star Wars Ep4 was made like 20 years before the next Ep1?)

Maybe it’s time YOU should watch some “creative, philosophical, cinemagraphically mind-blowing movies now.” AND original.

If you haven’t seen a Star Wars film in your entire life, you need to get out from the rock you live under and watch one. You say you like movies? Hate to tell you this but only the most pathetic dorks spank it to Japanese cartoons.Have you guys ever had sex with women before? Either you have no passion for life or you are just plain stupid, don’t waste your time watching any creative, philosophical, cinemagraphically mind-blowing movies now, it’s too late for you. You might as well just take a light saber and fall on it.

I’ve never seen an entire star wars movie either. Sure, I’ve seen bits and pieces of some, and about a fourth of one of the old ones (dont remember which one), but whatev. I guess I just never got into it like some of my friends did (and the rest of the world! haha). But I dont live under a rock either. Ive seen all the pirates movies, LOTRs, spidermans, etc etc tons of other movies, just never got into the whole Star Wars thing. I guess seeing adults skipping work to sit on a sidewalk for 2+ days just to see a movie (in a plastic costume nonetheless) makes it seem ridiculous and makes me not want to see it more.

HEY, I DONT KNOW WHY THEY ARE MAKING SUCJ A BIG DEAL ABOUT THIS MOVIE, GRANTED I HAVE NEVER SEEN IT, BUT LIKE SOMEONE ELSE MENTIONED….IM JUST NOT ATTRACTED TO IT……I ALSO HAVE NEVER SEEN ANY OF THE PIRATES OF THE CARRIBEAN MOVIES…….TOO OUTLANDISH FOR ME.
