The Dark Knight teaser
The first teaser trailer for the new Batman movie, The Dark Knight, showed up today.
Basically, there is no footage from the film whatsoever in the teaser - just graphics of the bat-emblem slowly being blasted apart by a bright beam from behind with the Joker card showing up at end. Although there is no footage, we do get to hear some dialogue between Bruce Wayne and Alfred. And… the Joker! Heath Ledger (the new Joker) actually sounds a little like Jack Nicholson playing the same character 20 years ago, but with an accent that sounds like a Texan. Dunno whats with the accent but the new Joker does sound rather menacing. And his laugh at the end sounds spot on!

A short 3D Batman animation titled, Help Me, by Isaak Fernandez Rodriguez containing all the visual approaches which tickles my fancies (simplistic, minimalist, etc.). Great stuff!
2 commentsThe Water Horse
A movie based on one of my beliefs - the elusive Loch Ness Monster, Nessie!
Clearly a fantasy movie for kids (and families), this movie is based on the novel by the author of Babe and is brought to us by the people who brought us The Chronicles of Narnia two years ago.
The Water Horse story centers around a lonely boy who finds a mysterious egg on the shores of a Scottish loch which later hatches the elusive monster. When the monster begins to grow at a rapid pace, making the secret harder to keep, the young boy has to do some seriously quick thinking if he is to keep his newfound friend out of the hands of research scientists and get it back into the acquatic environment in which it thrives.

2 commentsPhenomenons and mysteries

Ever since I was given one of Arthur C. Clarke’s books about the world’s mysteries and phenomenons as a kid, I’ve pretty much believed in most of them. The ones that fascinated me at the time, I continue to hold an interest in them and read up about them whenever news arises.
Below, I have listed the mysteries and phenomenons I’m interested or believe in and what I think of them…:

I’ve pulled out more Tokyo Plastic animation awesome-ness (direct links) from my old site for you guys…

I’ve already blogged about this animation a few years back on my old site but because I absolutely love it (even as of today), I decided to mention about it again here for those who have missed it.
2 commentsHeart-kun
Well, it’s not hard to see where this 6 week old chihuahua got his name, Heart-kun, from. This cutey was born in northern Japan and is one of a big litter, but the only one with a perfectly formed heart-shaped pattern on it’s fur. Of the thousand or so chihuahuas the owner has bred to date, only Heart-kun came with such a mark.
Just take a look at the pattern - that really is a perfectly formed heart shape. I’d love to have this little fella, but unfortunately, he ain’t for sale. And even if he was, I doubt he’d be going for cheap, anyway. Oh well, I can always wish for a bunny with such a pattern (probably not cheap either!)…
13 comments1-18-08
This mysterious secret project, a movie produced by J.J. Abrams (Star Trek, Mission Impossible 3, Lost, etc), has had quite a bit of buzz ever since the teaser was first shown with Transformers when it opened in theaters on July 3rd.
The numbers, 1-18-08, which seems like the title, is actually nothing more than just the release date. There is currently no title for the movie, no cast list and nor is there a synopsis. Even the official website is pretty empty right now besides the odd few drag-able pictures….

Dancing Trooper
Danny takes his Densha Trooper one step further - he now dances and grooves to music on the streets! Hahahahahaha. You gotta checkout the video in this entry of Dannys. It totally cracks me up. Not only is the scene, music and dance funny, but what really surprises me is I really cannot picture Danny dancing like this but he danced well… real sexy… hahahaha!
I did have doubts as to whether it was him (then again, who else would have the bottle to do that in public?) but the dude just assured me it was indeed him and he is actually heading out to another location, Harajuku, from now to strut his stuff there. Today, not only will it be the Densha Trooper doing the dodgy dance, the Densha Vader will join in too! Can’t wait to see the video…
