Finally saw Transformers

Transformers finally started screening here in Tokyo yesterday. Thats like a whole month after US! It was a long wait indeed especially after reading all those rave reviews from US and UK websites.

As I’ve mentioned before, I had literally zero faith in the movie even back in the days when it was first announced. Despite all the rave reviews after the movie was released, I still prevented myself from expecting too much. Afterall, I expected too much from Spider-Man 3, it kinda hurt when I finally got to see it.

Well, yesterday, me and the gang headed off to Odaiba’s Mediage to watch the movie. And guess what? I actually liked it - it was so much better than I had expected. I thought it was pretty action packed, humourous, and had ass-kicking SFX! Oh, and Megan Foxphwooooooar… was just too damn drooling hot! And thank god her role didn’t just require her to run and scream (those female roles drive me nuts). She was pretty tough and actually did something useful. So yeah, that was cool.

The robo designs were also pretty cool. Some hardcore Transformers fans have complained that they look too machinery and/or too much like insects but I thought they were OK. They’re exactly how I would expect a robo of today to look.

Despite the good points of the movie, a lot of it was very, very illogical. We were discussing this after the movie but I guess it is best to just “watch it”, “enjoy it”, and “don’t question it”.

To be honest, I’m looking forward to a sequel… bumblebee.gif

Hmm…I was disappointed with this movie. Maybe I did go in expecting too much, after all it just an action movie. Good to hear you enjoyed it. What did the others think of the movie? I think Danny went but didn’t give his impressions.

Transformers was ok, not the best. Like Eddie says I expected more from it. The CGI is cool, the film was a bit to bland for my taste and it didn’t get me jumping of my seat to to shout yippee kiy yay mother fucker!!!
Die Hard 4.0 is better even though Bruce is old.
