New iMac

You know, I’m not even sure I like the new design of the new iMac. Well, if we can even call it a new design, that is…

Aluminum… nice. Glass… nice. But the shape remains the same amid a bit thinner (love to see how well it deals with the heat). And I certainly don’t know what is with the thick black frame all around the screen; makes the screen look bigger while making the outer bevel look thinner? Just something to make it more aesthetically pleasing? From the CG renders, I don’t think I dig it. I guess I’ll just have to see the real thing for myself. Actually, I think I’ll head off to see it tomorrow…

Apple designs just don’t amaze me anymore and nor should I expect them to. Don’t get me wrong, that doesn’t mean I don’t think they are nice. They just don’t ooze that ‘oomph’ factor with each of their updates anymore. When you go clean and simple, there is only so far you can go with each update thereafter.

As I’ve said before, Apple designs are now all too predictable and somewhat effortless…

True, it has become more about the materials than the design. I’m glad I wasn’t alone in that thinking, how will it handle heat. ^^; I going to get a copy of iLife, iWork and probably add Aperture to the list as well. Its a good excuse to have a look up close…

Beautiful or not is totally out of the question to someone like you. You buy everything that hits the market, regardless… ;)

Not true. I’m very picky about what I spend my money on.
