Banh Xeo Saigon

… Vietnamese restaurant in Yurakucho Itocia mall. Itocia is practically stuck to the new Marui department store and houses all of the restaurants and food stalls.

And, you’re right. I was in Yurakucho again tonight. Seems like I’m here pretty often these days, huh? Anyway, after checking out some massage equipment and pillows (I got this bad-ass neck and back pain), I ended up having dinner at this Vietnamese restaurant with a friend.
The restaurant is a little small in size therefore the tables are also rather small with little space between tables. Obviously, with this mall being new, everything in the restaurant is new and clean, and was rather busy (full-house).
- Decoration: it pretty much mimics what other Vietnamese restaurants look like in Tokyo - Vietnamese paintings and ornaments on the wall, lanterns, etc. Cutlery is also pretty authentic just like what they used in the old days - green plastic rice bowls, big metal plates and bowls, etc.
- Atmosphere: it was busy, bright, and loud. Kinda like a fast food restaurant
- Service: I guess it is OK considering there were only 2 Vietnamese waitresses on-hand.
- Food: I pretty much got what I paid for. Average food for an average price
So yeah, that’s pretty much it. Below are images of what I ordered which set me back JP¥4,990 (+ a cold jasmine tea and a hot lotus tea):

Goi Cuon Tom Thit (fresh spring rolls)

Banh Xeo Tom Thit (cripsy pancake veggy wrap thingy)

Canh Ga Chien Nuoc Mam (spicy chicken wings)

Pho Bo (beef noodles)

Yurakucho Marui (not included in the price, ha!)
Is it me, or are those chicken wings arranged very suggestively[ love your blog- & Vietnamese food/on the whole ,it’s very healthy!
(Your last night pic looks awfully grainy?)
¥4,990 (£20?) is average price? There are no KFC’s or McDonalds or Subway? EXPENSIVE!!
