Crabs
It’s that season again! Every year around this time, I always go on a Hokkaido Crab binge. For JP¥5,500 you can eat as much crab as you like within 90 mins. Not exactly the sweetest crabs around but it’s good enough considering the price.
What you get on the course:
- Appetizer of the day (usually Japanese veg-related)
- Hairy crab
- Queen crab
- King crab
- Grilled scallops
- Rice porridge
- Dessert
From the list above, the only things that are all-you-can-eat are the crabs (all three).
I’ve been coming here for the last 4 years (different branches, though) and have witnessed the price going up with each visit. I remember the first time, it only costs about JP¥4,500 with free drinks thrown in (non-alcohol) . Then it went up to about JP¥5,000 without the drinks. Then the price went higher and the crabs go smaller. And so on…
This year, the crabs are really tiny and are less tastey.
