Snow again

This is the second time it snowed in Tokyo this winter. The first time (last Wednesday), although had heavy snowfall, the snow didn’t really stick nor last long, which is fine with me cuz I’m no fan of snow (had enough of it back in England during my childhood days. Boy, did I love getting snowballed by school friends… not).

When I woke up today, I was surprised to see the rooftops of nearby houses all white. And it was frikkin’ cold too. Because I didn’t wake up till 3pm (I’m battered), the snow on the roads had already become dirty slush, something I dragged myself through to get breakfast (in this case, breakfast and lunch)…

Pic above: view from my window

View from my balcony

A playground I walked through (sometimes I bring Ulala here)

Yellow and white go well together, don’t you think (I’m talking about the yellow car piled with snow)?

Dirty snow piled up on the side of the road

Mos Burger’s new menu: Chinese style Ebi Pao (prawn bun) with either chilli sauce or mayonnaise. I got both with fries and onion rings… yum yum :D

On the doorstep of my neighbours (all occupants in this building have family and kids)

Does “getting snowballed” not have a hilarious second definition in British English? :-D

I love the snow. Makes me turn into a kid again. The kids in Japan like to knock the heads off my snowmen, though. I guess it freaks them out…

Last month large snow fall here was the whitest snow I had seen in years. I grew up here in Michigan but didn’t miss the snow at all while I lived in Florida. Sure I will feel the same when I live in Japan.

Antenna is on the fender of that Honda, right? Yes, white does go well with yellow on that car.

    Eddie,

Love the picture as it shows the everyday-ness of the city. I used it on kokochi…let me know if that’s OK or not.

Also, I will be in Tokyo next next week. As usual, I will most likely be booked with work, but I may have a free evening open up last minute. I’ll email when I know more. Would love to finally see you!
