Shao Fuei Yan 小肥羊

… a Chinese/Monglian restaurant in Shibuya (plus other places), which literally translates to ‘little fat lamb (小肥羊 - 中国火鍋専門店)’, specialising in lamb nabe/fondue.
This kind of nabe has been quite popular globally in the last half decade or so (maybe even longer). In Hong Kong, it is called ‘maa laat foor woor’. I wanted to try it while I was there 2 months ago but never got the chance to.
There are 2 types of soup available for you to boil your food in: normal or hot. And yes, you can get the best of both worlds by ordering ‘half and half’, which I did. There are 3 levels of hotness to the hot soup: normal, hotter or hottest. I ordered the normal hot one but that was still something! You know, the type of hot that numbs your mouth and tongue?! I can’t really say I dig this kinda thaaaang…
… but it was actually very good!

There are enough chilli peppers in there to blow your brains out. And bear in mind, this is the ‘normal’ hot one, the least hot of them all!

The Chinese herbs that go into making the soup. Some of this stuff is supposedly good for your health.

Phwooooaaaar… a mountain of lamb!

Veggies

Slices and slices and slices of paper-thin chicken!

The table was kinda tiny

Lamb spare ribs!

This is beef something. It was kinda like jelly. I think it was either fat or muscle.

After you’re done with all the meat and veg, you’re ready to end the meal by boiling noodles in the remaining soup. Spicy maa laat ramen!

Annin tofu pudding
So, how much did all this good food come to? For two people including two soft drinks, it came to JP¥8,500
Is JP¥8,500 cheap?
that is Whopping Expensive!!
I am surprise this one is also in Japan. It’s a chain restaurant in H.K. as well as in Mainland. How about the one you went in T.S.T? That is a popular one in H.K. and Mainland too.
