Beverly, American izakaya

… Old fashioned style American… izakaya? Stumbled across this place today in one of a good handful of old commercial buildings in Yurakucho. I think the words ‘American izakaya’ drew me to this place. Afterall, I’ve never heard of western restaurants calling themselves izakaya before.

The restaurant is pretty much like… well… any American restaurant where hamburgers, steaks, fries, and some Mexican foods (burritos, fajitas, etc.) are served. The restaurant decoration/styling is quite neat: one half is your average American burger joint while the other half is modeled like the interior of an old train. The music was funky too – Madonna, A-Ha, Bananarama, etc., all from the 80s! My kinda days… hahahahaha…

Surprisingly, the food here was actually pretty decent and the price was acceptable. The food below plus 3 soft drinks came to JP¥4820:

Liver paste w/baguette

Spicy garlic shrimps and scallops w/baguette

Onion rings and potato fries

Beef fajita

Those onion rings look mighty good! Might have to check this place out.
