Isn’t this five-week old Holland Lop bunny cute?

Was browsing bunny-breeder sites yesterday and came across this teeny bunny that caught my eyes right away. And it happens to be one of the more costly ones. Not exactly hard to see why - it’s features are very, very close to a pure Holland Lop. Actually, all of the bunnies on the site are purebreds and come with an ‘ARBA (American Rabbit Breeders Associaton) Certificate of Pedigree’ but as with all things, genetics play a part therefore some are closer looking to their breeds than others (some may have slightly longer ears, longer legs, more round faces, etc.). And of course, depending on their features, prices vary. So yeah, the fact that I spotted this bunny right away and the fact that he/she is one of the more expensive ones, it kinda proves that I know my sh*t when it comes to identifying certain breeds of purebred bunnies. Me rocks… hahahaha.

Actually, it is harder to identify the pureness of a breed when they are babies because they “all” have short ears, small bodies and round heads. As they grow, their ears may become longer than what their breeds should have, faces less round than they should be, etc., etc. With that said, at 6-8 weeks old, their features become more apparent thus you’d get a pretty good idea. But anyway…

Yesterday when I came across this Osaka-based breeder’s site, there was no ‘SOLD’ sign for this bunny but today, there is (as the images suggest). I wonder who bought it so quickly…
