Kotobukiya - The Dark Knight PVC statues
Although I’m more than impressed with The Dark Knight line of 1/6th figures from Hot Toys, chances are, I probably wouldn’t get any of them (hopefully) because I know I’d get rather paranoid about displaying and posing them considering how much those figures actually cost and how anal I can be.
As many will know, I own a Takara Batman Begins in Genx Core 1/6th figure. The figure cost me about JP¥18,000 and is one of the best Batman Begins 1/6th figures around. The problem for me is, I just cannot bring myself to posing the figure because I’m worried about a limb becoming loose or worse, snapping, from too much bending. Also, because the suit is made from rubber, it attracts dust like ‘flies sticking to poo’. Removing the dust is also nigh on impossible because it just sticks to the rubber. Another thing with the rubber is, it is not high-grade rubber therefore within a few years or so, the rubber may become hard/brittle and just crack.
Because of the above mentioned: I don’t pose the figure, I don’t display it, etc., it doesn’t make a great deal of sense for me to buy any of the Dark Knight 1/6th figures. Instead, I’m gonna go for Kotobukiya’s ARTFX range of PVC snap-it-kit statues. As you can see from the images below, I’m sure you’d agree that they’re rather frikkin’ cool! Downside: besides being a solid statue without the ability to pose them, the sculpts are also less accurate (with the features exaggerated) when compared with the 1/6th figures. This is something I think I can live with considering the fact that the poses are pretty menacing and awesome (as with all statues), each one costs approx JP¥12,000, and they’re made from PVC which means if they get dusty, I can just run it under the tap. So yeah, these statues are defo my thing…
… and yes, I’d be buying both versions which would set me back approx. JP¥ 24,000 which is roughly the same price as just ‘one’ of the Hot Toys 1/6th figures. I really hope Kotobukiya would release a Joker statue too, in due time… fingers crossed! I mean, come on, they have to!

I’ll be getting the Koto’s Dark Knight statue as well…but only the Original Suit ver since I like the pose better or should I said the pose is freakin’ cool! (especially wif the base)
Having said that, I’m not a fan of posing so this is what exactly suit my taste.
Just wondering, what’s the difference between Original Suit & Dark Knight suit? I really can’t tell… ?_?
