Medicom – The Dark Knight Batman and Kubricks

Here are the official photos (finally) for Medicom’s The Dark Knight Batman and Kubricks which I first saw and mentioned about after visiting the Medicom Toy Exhibition 2008 approx. 2 months ago.

For those who remember, cameras were forbidden at the exhibition therefore, instead, I had to describe what I saw. Well, here are the official product photos from Medicom. Judge for yourselves if this is more accurate than Hot Toys attempt.

And bear in mind, Medicom’s prototypes always look waaaaaay better than their final production products. What I saw at the exhibition (a prototype) seems to be identical to the figure in the product shots below. With the release date being March 2009, no doubt the figure shots below is probably the same prototype I saw.

The Dark Knight Batman
Release date: March 2009
Retail price: JP¥20,790

The Dark Knight Kubricks
Release date: January 2009
Retail price: JP¥2,940 for each set (Batman and bear, Joker and bear)

Hot Toys – The Dark Knight Batman UPDATED!
Interestingly, Hot Toys have updated their Dark Knight Batman with a new headscult more closely resembling that of the new Dark Knight suit’s new cowl – namely a narrower mouth opening area. The prototype figure I saw at the International Tokyo Toy Show 2008 had a different headsculpt which was literally identical to their original suit Batman‘s cowl. So yeah, it’s good to see Hot Toys making theirs more accurate.

hi i already have the hot toys tdk suit is it still advisable to get the new medicom tdk suit?pls advise me which one is better as i have no idea how the medicom looks like except in the pic and im tempted to making an order.

If the final production Medicom looks like what I saw (identical to the pics above), I would say it is a pretty decent looking figure (plus, the suit isn’t rubber therefore you do not need to worry about the suit cracking, etc.).

But remember, Medicom’s final production toys ‘rarely’ ever look as good as their prototypes.

Just wait till it comes out next month, go see it, then decide for yourself. I doubt it will sell out really soon (Japan is still taking orders).

I wanted to get your observation do you think if you rememebr
the cowl nostrils you mentioned in Medicom proto were like we see in the movie cowl for batman?
