Bali: Indonesian dance

DSC_8128.jpg

As we all know, Indonesian dancing is a pretty big part of Indonesian culture with hundreds and hundreds of different dances. Most of the dances are based on tales of fairytale characters and the stories are usually about good Vs evil, about religious ceremonies, etc., etc.

While checking out the street in Sanur, I came across this asian-fusion restaurant called PENJOR which has dance performances on a daily basis from 8:15pm.

There were about 5-6 different dances accompanied by live music which lasted approx. 45 mins in total. After the performances, all the dancers line up on stage where customers can get on stage and have their photos taken with them. Absolutely great stuff!
