My very own iPhone 3G

… the 16GB version in black. Finally caved in and bought this baby last Saturday night.
Nope, I won’t review the phone since everyone has already done that 2 months ago. And everything that was mentioned is true: great iPod player, great build quality, great phone, no copy and paste function, no movie recording with the camera, crap battery life, etc., etc.
I only have the following to say:
- the best phone I’ve ever used
- looks slick and sexy
- the battery life is HORRENDOUSLY short
- SoftBank’s coverage/signal strength is POO

The new iPhone 2.1 software comes out for the US this Friday, it’s suppose to improve the battery life. I know the 3G radio uses up a lot as well. Might want to turn it off when you’re not using it to improve the usage time
Finally, You welcome
I’m wondering if this is more a 3G issue. I’ve heard complaints about the battery life but my 1st generation iPhone seems to have a pretty good battery life. Maybe I’m not using a feature that sucks it up, though. I don’t watch movies on the thing for instance. But I do use the iPod part of it constantly. And I surf the Internet a lot.
I’m completely jealous of the 16 gigs. I have the lowly 8 model…and probably paid twice as much, too. Thanks, Apple!
Another one bites the dust.
Crap battery life and crap signal. What’s the use of a phone that you can’t use as a phone? Might as well get an iPod touch and keep your old keitai.
I’m not falling for the hype.
Congrats on getting the iPhone 3G Eddie! ^^
About the signal problem.. I get my signals just fine, both edge and 3G (although I only run 3G). Also the battery only last a day if you browse on 3G every hour, 10-20 mins everytime, with music playing for about 3 hours a day. Yeah the battery does kinda suck. ;(
Hopefully the 2.1 firmware will fix the major bugs and most importantly improve the battery life.

By the way, I typed this on my iPhone 3G.
