Apple Universal Dock and iPhone 3G adapters
I’ve wanted the Apple Universal Dock since the days when I first bought my iPod touch (close to a year ago). God knows why I didn’t get one all this time. Well, tonight I finally decided to get it. And it was literally free.
Well, kinda free but not exactly. When I bought my iPhone 3G, Yodobashi (the shop I bought it from) had a promotion going on which gives JP¥6,000 worth of points (for use in the store) to anyone who signs up for SoftBank phone/account. So, with my ¥6,000 points, I purchased the dock today which costs ¥5,800.
The dock includes five adapters which fits most iPod models but doesn’t come with one for the iPhone 3G therefore I had to buy one separately. Actually, 3 in total for ¥1,000 (comes in a pack of 3). Man, what am I going to do with the other two?? An Apple Remote is also included. Now, I have 3 remotes in total – something I don’t even use… sigh.
I did consider getting the iPhone 3G ‘only’ dock which is half the price (¥3,500) but since I currently own a few iPods, and I’m sure I’ll be getting many more in the coming years, it seems more viable to get the Universal Dock.

The dock fitted with an iPhone 3G adapter. The iPhone 3G sits comfortably.

My iPod touch 16GB (left) sitting in the non-universal dock which came with my iPod photo 60GB (the first iPod with a colour screen and the ability to display photos). The iPod photo 60GB is close to 3 times the thickness of the iPod touch hence the iPod touch is loosely sitting in the dock.

I can’t believe you spent precious time posting about the dullest, most uninteresting accessory by Apple. I would rather see a dozen most posts about Kurara getting fatter.
hahahaha… I love you too, Roy!
