Tsukemen
Tsukemen つけ麺 is similar to ramen but the noodles are served separate from the soup - the noodles are to be dipped into the soup. The noodles are usually best served cold while the soup is hot and contains all the usual stuff like leeks, bambooshoots, diced char sui pork, etc.
This tsukemen shop called TAKESHI is located right next to the station near my place. The shop is really tiny and can sit no more than 9-10 people. It is usually very, very busy with a ton of people lining up. Despite it’s official operating hours from 11am to 12am, a ’sold out’ sign is usually displayed around 8:30pm-ish. Yes, they’re that busy, they sell out on a daily basis.
Today, because it is a Friday, most salary men (male office workers) usually go out drinking therefore I got a chance to try it out (and it is pretty rare I feel like eating ramen). All I have to say is, now I know why this place is so busy - the tsukemen here is really darn top-notch!!

Spicy flavour soy sauce based soup (¥700), large portion of noodles (no extra charge), and extra char sui pork topping (¥300)!!

Small queue today.

I could live in Japan, just for this. I so much miss all your great food options.
And 700YEN!!!… man, that’s the price just for getting into a taxi here or a Cafe Latte
