CameraBag for iPhone

There are quite a few ‘toy camera’ iPhone apps lurking around but the best one so far has to be CameraBag (iTunes AppStore link), imho.
1 commentEmoji on iPhone 3G
With the newly released iPhone firmware 2.2, the long await and ‘shouldn’t have been missing for the Japanese launch’, 絵文字 Emoji characters, finally makes an appearance on the iPhone 3G.

5 commentsUnlocking the iPhone 3G

Unlike the 1st generation iPhone, there is still currently no software hack to unlock the iPhone 3G for use in regions other than the region the phone is registered in.
The only way around this problem at the moment is to use a hardware hack device know as a ‘region unlock sim’. There are currently plenty of these unlock-sims (brands) floating around: there are ones which retain all of the iPhone’s functions but requires you to cut a bit of your sim card (so they can fit together), and there are ones which spare you from cutting your sim but not all of the iPhone’s functions are retained. Gain some, loose some. Well, that was with the older unlock-sims, I guess…
5 commentsSaw Quantum of Solace in HK
Because of the ridiculously early flight back to Tokyo from Hong Kong, I had to leave the hotel at like 5:45am therefore I decided not to sleep at all that night. This is because I am afraid of flying therefore by staying up all night, I would be able to sleep through the whole four hour flight journey, so I thought. Turned out I was only able to sleep for an hour on the plane and spent the following three hours with a splitting headache. Doh!
Anyway, to kill time that night, I decided to watch the late night screening of James Bond Quantum of Solace since the cinema was just downstairs from the hotel… and … this movie isn’t scheduled to start screening in Japan until the end of January 2009!
No commentsQuarter Pounder in Shibuya
I think Quarter Pounder only showed up in Tokyo 2-3 weeks ago. There are only two here, one in Shibuya and one in Omotesando. The one in Shibuya (the one I visited) will close on 27th November. Yep, just a few weeks stint. Not sure about the one in Omotesando, though.
6 commentsA few pics from my recent HK trip
Due to the nature of my trip, I knew I wouldn’t have a great of deal of time to go around Hong Kong therefore I didn’t bring my Nikon DSLR with me, just my aging compact cam and my iPhone 3G. Speaking of the iPhone, I have a locked Japanese version but was able to unlock it for use in Hong Kong. I’ll let you know how that is done in an upcoming entry.
No commentsWas in HK last week
… between November 6th – 12th on an emergency visit. Had received a call from my cousin on November 3rd notifying me of my 92 year old grandmother’s deteriorating condition – the doctor said “we ought to be prepared for…”.
So, before I knew it, I had booked a plane ticket and arrived in Hong Kong 3 days later.
9 commentsRabbit expenses
It’s that time again: stocking up on Kurara’s food. While we’re at it, I’ll give you some insight into how much it roughly costs to keep a rabbit in Tokyo and what goes into their diet.
