Chef’n G’Rabbit Jr. Magnetic Salt and Pepper Grinders

DSC_5135

Since my last entry was on the subject of food, I thought I might as well show off an awesome gift I received while I was in England from my pal in Manchester, Tony and his wife: a set of designer-ish rabbit salt and pepper grinders!

Those who have been reading my old site from 6 years back will have already seen pics of Tony when I last visited England (yes, my last visit was 6 years ago). Tony is a buddy a knew from literally the day I was born since he used to live over the road from me. Over the road as in 7 seconds walk from door to door (unlike how people now-a-days would refer to ‘over the road’ as on the ‘other side of the city’). Needless to say, we grew up together: we play on the streets together, we catch insects together, we walk to school together, we fight together, etc. That lasted a good 10 years until the guy became a traitor and left for Manchester!

Anyway, the guy is probably one of only a few people who knows I had pet rabbits when I was a kid. So yeah, I get this awesome present from him…

Very elegant design. The salt/pepper goes in from the back by removing the tail. Squeeze the ears together to grind and dispense the salt/pepper.

On the left side of the rabbits (see first picture), there is a round magnet for attaching the grinders to a refrigerator and such. The magnets are not really strong enough – the position of it and the weight of the ears causes the gringer to spin around with the ears pointing downwards.

And yep, you guessed right: I haven’t started using them. Not sure I can live with oil stains and such on them…
