The world famous ceremonial event: Changing the Guard
Changing the guard starts at 11:30am and lasts for approx. 30 mins. It is a ceremonial event where the infantry and cavalry soldiers charged with guarding the official royal residences in London are changed (kinda like shifts). The new guards march along the streets, complete with an orchestra, towards the Buckingham Palace grounds where they change over. It is a big tourist attraction therefore expect a heap load of people and no good positions to view the ceremony (unless you get there much earlier than the 11.30am starting time). The event happens every other day with every month being different therefore you should checkout the schedule if you happen to be in London and want to see the ceremony.
