Today’s Paul Smith loot

Paul Smith

No, not the Paul Smith Evian bottles but the stuff in the bag. What did I get? You’re gonna have to take a guess for now ^_^

For the last 5 years, I’ve had a few people ask me why I’m so into Paul Smith designs. For the record, here’s why:

1. Because Sir Paul Smith is a British fashion designer. And I’m all for supporting designer’s from England whether they’d be industrial designers, graphic designers, fashion designers, etc. I guess that is because I can relate to them and their work since I went through three art schools in England and knew students from across multiple art disciplines.

2. Because the designs are very, very simple. They’re things you can actually wear, go out and not attract a great deal of attention (unless you get a shirt that is covered in the famous coloured stripes). There’s nothing I hate more than brands where every single product has a massive logo across the back or on the right side of the chest, etc. They’re cheap as hell looking.

As simple as Paul Smith’s designs may look on the outside, there is actually a great deal of attention paid to the details (and craftsmanship). Top notch stuff.

3. Paul Smith products do not cost you a limb or two. They’re affordable. They’re very trendy. They’re very nice.
