Apple iPad

So, the much rumoured Apple tablet is now officially known as the iPad.
The announcement came and went and to be honest, I’m not thrilled. I mean, what’s new and innovative? Not to mention, pretty much everyone predicted what it was all gonna be about.

During the day, I’ve seen friends rave about it (via facebook) and friends bashing it. How do I feel about it? Like said before, I don’t see why I need this and I still don’t. The only real reason why I’d buy it is because I love the feel of the aluminium and it’s sexy looks, and being so god damn affordable.
I think I’m gonna hold off and see what advancements will be made to the MacBook Air updates.

You say you won’t buy it but you know you will
Stephen Fry has a pretty good take on the iPad:

Fry notes – and this is good advice in general: “Withhold judgment until you spend 5 minutes with it.”
So that’s why you were so quite for 24 hours
@ craigyip
we’ll see about that buddy
@ Keith
yeah, definitely need to see it first. Definitely know it’s simething I don’t need too
@ Isaack
yeah, actually went to bed before the announcement started which is unusual when Apple has announcements.
It’s a bigger iPod and just seems like another storefront for their AppStore instead of anything innovative. It’s trying to fill an entertainment niche that is somewhat new, but I am unsure if the market is really there for it. It doesn’t hold-up to the versatility of a netbook (you have no desktop style OS) but when compared to the price of the top-end Kindle version it’s a little more sensible. I think future iterations could draw my interest better, but I’m holding off for this round. (:
Eddie, for me the iPad is the MacBook Air killer don’t except updates … so hold off till iPad V2
iTouch on steroids…..
