Sony NEX-5N

I’m gonna sell my aging Nikon to get this new baby, the Sony NEX-5N. The Nikon is just far too heavy to carry around.

Finally you give in to the superiority of Sony!
Not just yet!
Your comment ended up in my spam. Luckily I checked before I emptied.
Before you do that I suggest you take a really close look at the display models. Especially around the lens mounts. When these first came out I looked and noticed that the so called metallic parts around the lens mounts were not metal at all. They were cheap white plastic painted chrome and it quickly flaked off after some use. I think it this would drive you totally crazy so just warning you about it.
The camera is ok and small, lightweight etc. But I think the classic SLR design is still better.
Really?! Yes, that would totally drive me nuts and sleepless! How can they use plastic, though? Lens mounts are pretty much metal as standard because that’s a high strain element due to lens switching. I guess they aren’t expecting users of this kind of cam to change lens often? I certainly won’t be – mainly the widest.
I’ve just looked at the version from last year – the ring is metal. They also had mockups of the new ones. Not impressed actually – too small, not comfortable to hold. Quite like the Olympus Pen Lite 3, though…
Sorry I meant the lens mount on the lens, not the camera body. At least when the first NEX came out there was a bunch of people complaining about it and I saw that as well. Totally turned me off. I think they used plastic to keep the weight/price down. But yeah the paint was chipped off completely. Looked really bad. The newer ones may have improved on it.
Make sure Sony has the lenses that you want…
Oh, May just upgrade!!
Silver or Black???
