So, the much rumoured Apple tablet is now officially known as the iPad.

Well, well, well… Apple finally sent out email invites to journalists for a special event on 27th January. Seems like we’re about to finally see the Apple Tablet computer that’s been rumoured for what seems like a century now.

I guess by now, every single person on the face of this planet would have a pretty good idea of what the device is going to look like: large, flat and shiny. In short, an oversized iPod touch.

… to match my two awesome Magic Mice. What makes this keyboard new? It may look the same as the previous wireless keyboard but this new one requires just two AA batteries — one less than the previous model. And its intelligent power management system conserves battery life (not sure if this feature is new to this model).

I’ve actually invested quite a bit in my Mac this month: 4GB ram (¥24,800), Magic Mouse (¥6,800), and now the new Wireless Keyboard (¥6,800 plus a keyboard cover for ¥990)… I’m broke as hell now.

It’s really rare that I receive gifts from readers, let alone, a gift like this: an Apple product wrapped in an Apple gift box! How sexy is that?

I don’t usually jump on new OS’ but since the compatibility list shows no real problems for the graphics programs I use, I thought, ‘why not’.

Most who have already pounced on the new Snow Leopard have claimed that it is fast. I’ll find out tonight when I get home…

Note: Mac OS X has multilingual built in. It doesn’t matter if you get one with an English box or a Japanese box. They’re the same. For some reason, the Apple Store chick decided to give me an English one.

The Apple rumour mill is on fire again… this time, the long awaited Apple tablet. Rumour mongers have been pretty accurate these last few years regarding new product launches and when a rumour heats up like this, they’ve been pretty accurate. And lets face it, the iPhone and iPod touch has been around for a while now, is it really that hard to believe that a larger version is just around the corner? Come on, it’s just a matter of time (component price drop).
