Yurakucho Marui

… fashion department store. I was in Ginza again this evening and since I use Yurakucho station, I thought I’d take a look inside the new Marui department store which opened only last week. As with all places new, there were lots of people! With this Marui being near Ginza, the stores inside seem a little different from stores in other Maruis. There seems to be some slightly higher-end brands here.

Fish & chips

Being a Brit and having not stepped on British soil since the end of 2003, a lot of times I get this bad crave for good ol’ English food, namely, fish & chips and pasty (both pictured above)!

Spider-Man 3 DVD

… supposedly launches tomorrow but most shops started to sell them today and guess who picked up a copy? There are actually quite a few bundles on offer: the standard 2-disc DVD (the one I bought since I already own the previous two movies), DVD trilogy set, 2-disc DVD figure set (Spidey and black Spidey figures), SideShow Collectibles DVD trilogy set which comes with high quality SideShow statues (bust) of Spidey and black Spidey, and lastly there is the Blu-ray trilogy set.

Yakiniku again

I’ve mentioned before, off all the times I’ve been to all-you-can-eat Yakinuku, I have yet to experience a place that offers good quality meat. Today, I headed off to some Yakiniku place in Yurakucho for a friend’s birthday. The place was featured on TV a day or two ago regarding their all-you-can-eat course. It was supposed to be good. “Supposedly”…

Ex-colleagues meet-up

On Saturday, me and a bunch of ex-colleagues met-up in Shibuya for dinner to greet Bill whom is back in town for a visit from the US. Half of us at the meeting are working for different employers now - Bill left and went back to the US about two years ago, I left a year and a half ago, a few other guys left a few months after me, etc. The other half are still there.

Although most of us at the meeting have not seen each other for a while, it feels as if nothing has changed. It feels as if we just left work and are grabbinig dinner, just like it did over 2 years ago. Obviously, 2 years doesn’t alter appearances in age all that much therefore everyone looks pretty much the same. I did get a few people saying I lost weight and seem a bit pale, though (I was never dark to begin with and my weight loss is due to my worsening ability to sleep). Thank god no one mentioned, “Hey Ed, your hair is falling out”. I would have hurled myself out the nearest window! Hahahaha…

Always, after meetings like these, it makes me miss the old days…

Yep, as I said I would in the morning (in the previous post), I headed off to Apple Store in Ginza this afternoon to take a look at the industrial design of the new iMac. So how was it?
