WTWTA seems popular here
‘Where The Wild Things Are’ seems to be much more popular in Tokyo than I initially thought it would be. This is Shibuya’s Parco department store decked out in the theme.
No commentsAlice in Wonderland
Pretty sure this is the first ad I’ve seen for Alice in Wonderland. Spotted it on the train platform in Nagatacho station.
I just can’t wait to see this movie – Tim Burton and Johnny Depp just rock… hard!

Obviously, this movie doesn’t even try to be a good movie (what you expect with a title like Lesbian Vampire Killers?) and at most times, the jokes which the characters crack aren’t even witty nor funny.
With that said, I did actually enjoy the movie though for the Brit accent I miss and the vocab used. Hate to admit it but once upon a time (over two decades ago, actually), I talked and sounded like the two male characters in this movie…

Saw Avatar
Finally found the time to see Avatar (in 3D) since I finished all my work yesterday for the New Year. Was the movie good and did I enjoy it? You bet! I loved it! It has eye-popping 3D graphics, has a plot, and has character development. The movie didn’t feel two and a half hours long at all. Avatar is definitely the best movie I’ve seen this year. James Cameron rocks, period!

The seven month wait is finally over – the MMS DX Joker finally gets released and landed in Japan this week. As usual, it took approx. six weeks after Hong Kongers got theirs (HT is a HK company).

No commentsX-Men Origins Wolverine

Saw the X-Men prequel, Wolverine, today (it only just came out on Friday here) with a friend I last met 3 years ago. Had a pretty good time over dinner and stuff and is exactly what I needed since I’ve had quite some troubles for the last month or so. Anyway, the movie was actually not as bad as most say it is. In fact, it was highly entertaining and good!

Here comes James Cameron’s next movie, AVATAR! Man, god knows how long I’ve been waiting for another James Cameron sci-fi movie. The guy practically disappeared after making Titanic. OK, not really – he made a good few underwater adventure documentaries since but that was about it, really. With this new movie of his, it is said to revolutionise film making and is already shaping up to be one of the most beautiful movies ever. Can’t wait to see it in December. Checkout the trailer.
2 commentsHACHI

Went to watch HACHI the other day. For those that don’t know, the movie is based on a famous Japanese dog called, Hachiko, who lived in the 1920s-30s in Tokyo. To keep it real brief and real short: Hachiko was owned by a professor from the University of Tokyo. Hachiko would go to Shibuya station and wait for his owners return (from work) on a daily basis. One day, the professor had a heart attack/stroke while on duty and died. Hachiko continued to return to Shibuya station daily for the next 9 years of his life in hope that his owner would return. Due to Hachiko’s loyality and story, a statue of him was erected at Shibuya station in the 1930s which still stands today (hotspot for meeting).
So, from all this, Hollywood decides to bring this to the big screen: HACHI starring Richard Gere.
