Marco Polo Hong Kong Hotel

… is the hotel I am staying in for my 12 nights here in Hong Kong. The hotel is a five-star hotel conveniently located in Habour City (one of HK’s largest shopping complex) in the heart of the commercial, shopping, and entertainment district of Hong Kong with Victoria Harbour on it’s doorstep.

I guess most of you are familar with Izakaya? Izakaya is basically a Japanese drinking place which also serves food to accompany the drinks (food as in meals, not just snacks). Izakayas are pretty much everywhere and are popular for after work drinking. They range from small and cozy local joints -to- chain franchises which have a much larger footprint -to- more high-end, designer decorated interior ones. Obviously, the price and the quality of the food is reflected.

… Vietnamese restaurant in Yurakucho Itocia mall. Itocia is practically stuck to the new Marui department store and houses all of the restaurants and food stalls.

… fashion department store. I was in Ginza again this evening and since I use Yurakucho station, I thought I’d take a look inside the new Marui department store which opened only last week. As with all places new, there were lots of people! With this Marui being near Ginza, the stores inside seem a little different from stores in other Maruis. There seems to be some slightly higher-end brands here.

(Re-posted after data loss) Well, what’s in Ginza? Brands, brands, brands, brands, brands. Yep, Ginza is packed with brands. Literally every shop here, back to back, is a fashion brand store. The ultimate shopping heaven for brand lovers.
