Spider-Man 3 DVD

… supposedly launches tomorrow but most shops started to sell them today and guess who picked up a copy? There are actually quite a few bundles on offer: the standard 2-disc DVD (the one I bought since I already own the previous two movies), DVD trilogy set, 2-disc DVD figure set (Spidey and black Spidey figures), SideShow Collectibles DVD trilogy set which comes with high quality SideShow statues (bust) of Spidey and black Spidey, and lastly there is the Blu-ray trilogy set.

I’m slowly recovering

crab_sml.jpgAfter spending days staying at home due to a backpain, I finally ventured out shopping this evening at a nearby supermarket to buy tonight’s dinner as well as stock up on supplies before the new year arrives.

Basically, I thought I had totally recovered form my back problem but after about 20 minutes of walking around, my back felt rather tired therefore I had to go sit down at MacDonalds (in one corner of the supermarket). Obviously, I wasn’t just gonna sit there and look like an idiot therefore I had to grab some grub. Speaking of which, when did the bog-standard hamburger become so cheap?? ¥80, man! But anyway, this kinda defeated my purpose of going to the supermarket to buy dinner. Sigh, I guess I’ll need a few more days before I return to total fitness. I’m getting there, though, amid slowly.

LaLaport in Toyosu

mall1_sml.jpgI only just found out about this new LaLaport shopping mall in Toyosu a week or so ago via a TV program. The TV program mainly focused on the Kidzania part of the shopping mall which happens to be a huge in-house theme park. Because I was busy cleaning Ulala’s cage at the time, I didn’t pay a great deal of attention to the program but I do clearly remember seeing kids with their families riding on small coasters, seeing facilities for kids to learn how to put out fires, construction cranes which kids can control, etc., etc. I think it’s more than your average kinda themepark clearly with educational purposes in mind too.

The program didn’t say too much about the shopping aspects, which is understandable since all shopping malls are cloned with the same shops, anyway.

Lots of DS cases

1_sml.jpg

Today, I finally got around to do some shopping for my nephews and ended up buying stuff for myself too. That’s precisely why I shouldn’t leave my home - I have to buy something regardless of big or small, useful or not, sigh…

Anyway, the “Lite Slipon” socks for the Nintendo DS Lite I pictured here, were not the only variations available. Today, I also came across 2 more variations: a black and a brown leather-like version. Just like the gold and silver ones, they looked kinda cheap. The natural sock-looking ones were better.

Revenge of the sock

DS_Slipon_sml.jpgRemember those silly iPod socks by Apple that sold like hot cakes (I have ‘em too)? Well, some maker has caught on with the ever-so-popular Ninendo DS Lite and released a similar product named, Lite Slipon. And, thank god, unlike Apple’s “you have to buy all 6 colours in a box for ¥3,500″, you can buy only the colour you desire. Just for a mere ¥660!

In this shop, I only saw these five variations: pink sock, grey sock, blue sock, gold leather-like pouch, and silver-leather like pouch. There is no price difference despite the difference in materials used. So far, my sister’s kids in England have asked me to get them a grey and blue one. I’m a little tempted to get one too despite having given them up the last time around…

Today’s ramblings

sony_sml.jpg1. Sony a100 D-SLR
The Sony a100 came on sale today and Yodobashi Camera in Akihabara had a good 8-10 units on display for all those enthusiasts to get their grubby hands on. And I was one of them. Hahahahahha…. anyway. The cam is very nice in appearance and feels well built but the material quality on the other hand is… erm… dunno how to say. Lets put it this way, the material on the Sony does not feel as nice as those of the Nikon D200 and Canon 30D, but it is 1000x better than the material on the Canon Digital KISS (which in my opinion, has the cheapest material on any D-SLR). The menu layout is pretty simple and usable, but having 2 dials feels a bit weird. But all-in-all, the Sony is nicer than I had expected. But still, when it comes to D-SLRs, my preferred choices is still Nikon and Canon.
