My fav pic with Ulala

Ulala chillin' on my lap

Out of all the photos I have with my pet rabbit, Ulala, this one is taken in May is my fav. I think the reason being, its very natural and soothing. And I also like the fact Ulala is just chillin’ on my lap, resting against my arm and looking to the distance as if he is waiting for something. Well, he was actually - waiting for me to take him home…

Btw, you see that patch of white fur on the back of his head? That is the smoothest fur ever! Silky smooth!

Revenge of the sock

DS_Slipon_sml.jpgRemember those silly iPod socks by Apple that sold like hot cakes (I have ‘em too)? Well, some maker has caught on with the ever-so-popular Ninendo DS Lite and released a similar product named, Lite Slipon. And, thank god, unlike Apple’s “you have to buy all 6 colours in a box for ¥3,500″, you can buy only the colour you desire. Just for a mere ¥660!

In this shop, I only saw these five variations: pink sock, grey sock, blue sock, gold leather-like pouch, and silver-leather like pouch. There is no price difference despite the difference in materials used. So far, my sister’s kids in England have asked me to get them a grey and blue one. I’m a little tempted to get one too despite having given them up the last time around…

Tokyo Tower

SN310509.jpg

Earlier today, I went to a hospital to visit my friend who is recovering from an operation. I didn’t even realise Tokyo Tower was nearby, let alone right outside, until she pointed it out to me from the hospital’s in-house restaurant. I’ve only been to the Tokyo Tower once and that was a little over 10 years ago…

Panasonic Lumix L1 + others

l1_01_sml.jpgYes, the Panasonic Lumix L1 D-SLR is finally here and boy does it look and feel super-retro! For whatever reason, the Lumix L1 is not getting anywhere near the amount of attention the Sony a100 is getting. There’s only 2 Lumix L1s on display and no one is really looking at them. Instead, the crowd is sucking up to Sony’s a100! And they have 8 on display! Hmmmmm…..

Panasonic’s Lumix L1 does not come cheap. It costs more than a Nikon D200 and it virtually doubles the price of Sony’s a100. I mean, that’s a pretty bold move (the pricing) from Panasonic because just like Sony’s a100, the Lumix L1 is Panasonic’s first stab at D-SLR market. Yes, I know and am sure the Leica lenses are top notch but hey, the Carl Zeiss lenses on Sony’s a100 is no slouch either. So yeah, the pricing is something worthy of debate.

Bonodori

bon_1_sml.jpg

The Bon dance festival is happening again on the grounds of a school near my home. Can you believe it’s already another year? Time seems to fly faster each and every year. Before you know it, I’d be collecting my pensions!

Anyway, was walking towards my home when my iPod nano’s battery depleted therefore the sound of traditional Japanese music caught my ears. As I got closer to my home, the beatings of the drum got louder and louder therefore I knew they’re holding the event at the school again so I thought I’d drop by.

Today’s ramblings

sony_sml.jpg1. Sony a100 D-SLR
The Sony a100 came on sale today and Yodobashi Camera in Akihabara had a good 8-10 units on display for all those enthusiasts to get their grubby hands on. And I was one of them. Hahahahahha…. anyway. The cam is very nice in appearance and feels well built but the material quality on the other hand is… erm… dunno how to say. Lets put it this way, the material on the Sony does not feel as nice as those of the Nikon D200 and Canon 30D, but it is 1000x better than the material on the Canon Digital KISS (which in my opinion, has the cheapest material on any D-SLR). The menu layout is pretty simple and usable, but having 2 dials feels a bit weird. But all-in-all, the Sony is nicer than I had expected. But still, when it comes to D-SLRs, my preferred choices is still Nikon and Canon.

What’s up doc?

ulala_staring.jpgLast Friday, I took Ulala to Saito Rabbit Clinic in Tabata because of his weeping-eye problem which has never recovered for the last 3 months despite seeing my local vet 3-4 times already. The clinic oozes nothing super hi-tec, just modest. One thing that struck me was the amount of employees they have there. To add to that, I was the only customer. Anyway, a specialist is a specialist! Before I made the visit, I had called and mentioned about weeping-eyes, that was all. As soon as I was called into the doc’s office, all the neccessary syringes, etc. was already waiting for Ulala. I didn’t really need to say anything else as she just did her stuff with a super annoyed Ulala.
