Cellphone pics of Ulala

Ulala (XX Nov 2001 - 18 Apr 2007)
Here are some collage of Ulala photos taken via my many cellphones during the last few years. I have more cellphone pics of Ulala than from a normal camera since my cellphone is always close by allowing me to take snaps of him whenever I feel like…
1 commentFlea market 5/2007
Already that time of the year again - flea market in Musashi-Koyama. As mentioned before, Musashi-Koyama organises a flea market event twice a year in May and October, and me and my friends usually always participate. Because I’ve blogged about this event ‘god knows how many times’ (new and old site), I won’t bother to write much for this entry because the event always takes place in the same place and always the same people participate - basically there is really not all that much to write about.
No commentsMy love for red meat
Those who know me well are well aware that I’m a big, big fan of red meat. Well, not just red meat, all meat for that matter. I’m always craving for meat and if there is one meal that I eat in a day which contains no meat, I somewhat feel as if I have no energy…
5 commentsBaby crabs
I was in the supermarket just before and came across these wrapped baby crabs. And boy were they super-active! Being in Japan, of course I get to see lots of fresh moving seafood here in supermarkets like abalone, larger crabs, shrimps/prawns, shell fishes, etc., but they usually look less active because the trays they are in just about fits them hence they have no space for movement (well, you don’t get much movement from things like abalone anyway).
3 commentsThinking about the little guy
The weather in Tokyo has been truly terrific recently. Well, today is actually pretty windy but the sun is shining and the temperature is great. After going to the supermarket, on my way back, I decided to take the route that leads to the mini garden where I often chilled out with Ulala on nice days. As you can see, more flowers have grown and its pretty dense now compared with last month when I was here with Ulala last. Ulala would be estatic to see all these flowers - he’d probably trample all over them.

I was at Toyosu’s Lalaport shopping mall yesterday and ate lunch in the food court. Before you get to enter the food court, the staff at the entrance will first explain the system to you, something which felt like it took forever…
Basically, you are given a ‘reserved sign’ and an ‘order card’ as you enter. First, you go to find a table you like and you put your ‘reserved sign’ on the table (your belongings too if you want). You then take the ‘order card’ with you in search for grub. In this food court, you get a choice of cuisines from either Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand or America. Once you’ve decide what you want to order, you hand over the card to the staff at whichever one of the cuisine counters and they will beep the barcode on the reverse side of the card. Then you just stand there and wait for your food to be prepared before you take it back to your table and munch away. When you’re ready to leave, you take your ‘order card’ with you to the exit where there are multiple counters waiting to charge you. Your ‘order card’ will have recorded everything you ordered (unless the staff forgot to beep your card) - its basically your bill.
9 commentsPhotos on Flickr
Starting from May 7th’s entry, I have/will host all my blog pics on Flickr linked to/from my blog. I’ve actually had a Flickr account for a while now but I hardly use it (in the beginning, the usability was horrible. But it got better with each update). By hosting on Flickr, and since I paid for a pro-account, I can have much larger pics on it. Of course, I could if I wanted, have huge pics on my blog server but since it’s my friends server and he is letting me use it for ‘free’ (and he maintains my site too), I just don’t feel so hot about using up a lot of his space. So yeah, all pics on Flickr starting from this month.
3 commentsJust too much promo in Tokyo
Have you had enough of me covering Spidey yet? There’s just so much promo and merchandising stuff going on here, it’s beginning to get to me. Checkout Blister in Tokyo as pictured above. I spotted this life size black Spidey at the entrance of the store before I was even anywhere near the place. As I got closer, the Spidey trailer, posters and toys came into focus from behind the statue. As soon as I stepped into the store, to my horror, the whole floor is decked out with Spidey stuff! And I mean the ‘whole floor’! Not just Spider-Man 3 merchandises, but also stuff from Spidey 1 and 2, comic version Spidey stuff, 80’s Spidey toys, Spidey candy, etc., etc. You name it, they have it.
4 commentsSpider-Man 3 movie and exhibition

Yep, Spider-Man 3 opens in Tokyo from today and I went to see it with Roy, Brad and Reika at the Toho Cinemas in Roppongi Hills. Despite this being the cinema that I frequented the most, I never knew that tickets cost only ¥1,000 on the 1st of every month! Just shows how much attention I pay to things…
