PlayStation 3 - nearly upon us

SonyPS3.jpgWith the Japanese launch of the Sony PlayStation 3 just a little over three weeks away, this Japanese game site has got their hands on what probably are the final production units of both the 20GB and 60GB models.

Now, from this picture of the PS3, can you blame me for not liking the high-gloss finish? It’s like a mirror, for crying out loud! And I also don’t the legs/catches/hinges that hold the front flip-panel to the unit. It looks really cheap and nasty! Hmmmmmm… I’m still debating whether I should get one of these from day one…

Update: More here from the same guys

Strong quake at 6:30-ish?

Was the earthquake really that big this morning? Or was it just that I wasn’t deep asleep? I mean, the quake actually woke me up for a bit. Well, just enough time for me to check the time before falling asleep again… (-_-;)

Update:

A quake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.0 quake shook Tokyo and its vicinity Saturday morning, the Meteorological Agency said.

The quake struck at 6:38 a.m. (2138 GMT Friday) and was centered off the coast of Chiba Prefecture, the agency said in a statement.

There were no danger of tsunami, it said.

There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage from the quake.

Ah, OK. It was biggish…

iPod nano (PRODUCT) RED

red4.jpgChoose the “iPod nano (PRODUCT) RED Special Edition and Apple will give $10 of its purchase price to the Global Fund to fight AIDS in Africa.

Volume, meet virtue
You make choices every day, from the clothes you wear to the music you play. Now making a choice means making a difference. The iPod nano (PRODUCT) RED holds up to 1,000 songs, 25,000 photos, and a little hope. That’s because $10 from every iPod nano (PRODUCT) RED sold goes directly to the Global Fund to fight AIDS in Africa. Which means your iPod nano (PRODUCT) RED sounds good and does good at the same time.”

Hmmmmmm… personally, I think it is better to donate the US$200 directly to the AIDS fund. Anyway, find out what is (PRODUCT) RED about.

Psoriasis ‘ups heart attack risk’

Adults with psoriasis - especially younger patients with severe symptoms - appear to be at increased risk of a heart attack, a major study suggests.

A University of Pennsylvania team found a 30-year-old with severe symptoms had about three times the risk of somebody of a similar age without psoriasis.

They believe the immune abnormalities which cause the skin condition may also increase the risk of heart problems.

It found that heart attacks were more common in patients with severe psoriasis (5.13 per 1,000 person-years) and mild psoriasis (4.04 per 1,000 person-years) than in patients without the condition (3.58 per 1,000 person-years).

Click here for the complete BBC article. Or, find out what is Psoriasis.

Well, isn’t that friggin’ good to hear? Good bye, my friends…

Flea market 10/2006

CA330057_sml.jpgYep, flea market time again in Musashi-Koyama. I guess most of you will remember, I usually join the girls and participate twice a year (May and October). The one that was supposed to happen in May was cancelled due to bad weather therefore at todays market, most of us had quite a bit to sell. Sometimes I just wonder where all these things come from especially with the girls. They’re like here twice a year and each time, they have cases and cases of stuff to sell!?!

With it being a 3 day weekend coupled with nice weather, I guess most people are out of town hence todays sales was not as good as before. We were placed at our usual spot which is between the station and the shopping mall therefore a lot of people walk by and checkout our stuff. Biggest problem is, this area is not a posh area and most of the residents are pensioners. Also, there seems to be a lot of Chinese and Philipino shoppers. All this means, we cannot sell our stuff for a high price - we’ve always kept the pricing around ¥300-800.
